Writing is Important

At American coolages and universities, students are asked to write for several different purpose. Some common purpose are:

• To compare or contrast two topics
• To argue for a solution to a problem
• to describe a project
• To summarize information
• To report on a laboratory experiment or research

Student are asked to write for these purpose in a variety of academic situations, such as im composition classes and for essay tests, term papers, laboratory reports, and project reports.

How Do You Write?
In all these writing situation, students have to use a certain format and style of writing. Every student is espected to write clearly and to use correct grammer, spelling, and punctuation. Most American collage and university use two formats for academic writing: the paragraph and the essay. The paragraph format is used to answer test question and to write laboratory reports. The essay format is made up of several paragraphs and is used to write compotitions, term papers, and research papers.

The style of writing is also important. Students in the Unoted States are expected to write in a somewhat format style. This means that their language should be clear and direct and that they should nou use slang. In addition, it is important to note that students in United States are often expected to use their own ideas in their writing. American professors generally want their students to use original examples and arguments rather than just repeat the information they have found in their research.

Student in America universties often have very little time to do their writing. for example, some tests many require students to write several paragraphs to answer one quertion in a short period of time. When your time is limited, it becomes even more important not to waste any of it wondering how to say what you want to say. In addition, the organizational format used when writing in American English is often quite different from the way writing is organized in other languages.
